At the center portion of Minacious Isle, as shown in the picture below, you will find four elemental Monument Totems. By hitting them in the correct order you will be able to get a Luxurious Chest and 3 Starlight Coalescence. This guide explains how to solve this puzzle in Genshin Impact 2.8 Summertime Odyssey event, which started on 15th July 2022 and will end on 24th August 2022.
Read the stone tablet near the cryo totem and it will tell you to look out for elemental symbols on the island. Sort the symbols from top to bottom based on their elevation and then hit the elemental totems in the same order.
Go to the southwest portion of Minacious Isle and follow the bird as shown in the picture below. This bird will lead you to four big pictures of the elemental symbols.
The bird will first lead you to Hydro Symbol. It is in the water at the beach on the far left of the island. The Cryo symbol is on the cliff wall east of the hydro one. From Cryo, climb up the cliff on the north side to find the Anemo symbol on the grass. The Pyro is a leaf formation above the puzzle. The four pictures sorted from top to bottom based on their elevations are shown below (Pyro-Anemo-Cryo-Hydro).
Now go to the puzzle area and activate the four elemental totems in this sequence: Pyro-Anemo-Cryo-Hydro. Pyro is on top of a broken arch. Anemo and Cryo are on the lower levels. The Hydro is on top of a big arch.
Once you have activated the totems in the correct order, a portal will appear as shown in the picture below. Cast Anemo to the windmill nearby to activate the wind current. Then take the wind current to enter the portal. You will find a Luxurious Chest and 3 Starlight Coalescence inside.

Probably doesn’t work if you already activated the elemental totems on the other time’s island (the smaller version one).
Only after many tries did the idea knock onto me that I went through the portal when the totems are all on the ground level and stairs upside down.
I visited and investigated each elemental symbol location. I brought Yelan, Venti, Aloy and Amber and shot each statue in order as directed. Nothing happened.
So there’s necessary steps you need for the portal to open:
0) the quest The Discarded Insignia – Find a way to open the path that Yakov took
1) the long island version – just activate cryo (light fog outside) – if it rains, activate pyro and then cryo = should do the same
2) now there is the dream form bird in the west of the long island (next to a tomb)
3) follow it through all 4 element symbols and investigate them
4) change to normal small-sized island
5) now the cryo-anemo-pyro-hydro works and you teleport to the starter island, grats
The step 1) is the one that most of us skipped
thanks so much! you were right and it turns out I had to activate the pyro totem, then the cryo totem on the other version of the island. something weird was that i didn’t follow the bird you mentioned, but i did follow the bird that shows the 4 torches.
I found all the stars .. got the first 2 lux chests then went down to realise there was one chest up there that i could see with 3 stars around it … i lit the totems in the order as above and it led me to that chest. so i’m happy.
you have to unlock the first puzzle before you do this one, the first one is in the previous look of the island, by entering the place in water teleporter near the totems, make sure that the first totem are activated by looking if the circle void teleporter are visible up top
I cant find bird!
At first I have the same issue with you. I found out that you have to light up the Cryo totem in the island (change the weather) in order to get the bird to turn up. Follow the bird and interact with all the element symbols, then you can continue with the puzzle.
Honestly, I’d reckon some of us (like me) didn’t realize we had to investigate the symbols while the bird led us around. Now I don’t have a guide in-game and I only investigated two (because I was button mashing and didn’t know what Paimon meant by “what is this weird picture doing here?”
Would it hurt to add the locations so those of us that missed it while following the bird can go look for it afterwards too? 🥲

It DOES work, if you have activated by accident a totem before making this puzzle, just hit random totems until you have all of them off. Then follow the order of this guide and you can get it, as long as there is a star above the totem it means you’re on the right way. Pyro-Anemo-Cryo-Hydro is indeed the order.
I didn’t need to follow the crane in order to complete, but I’ve activated both Anemo and Cryo totems before that too, it made changes on the island
so for ppl who arent seeing the bird, you have to activate the cryo monument first to see it. this applies for all the purple apparitions on this island
