This guide will help players complete the Cat Gate Puzzle in the sub-chapter ‘Moon Market‘ of Chapter 4 ‘Final Dawn‘ in the game Split Fiction, released on March 6, 2025.
When the side quest begins, walk up to the magical boat and interact with it. The boat will carry both players toward the castle.
Once you arrive, follow the path ahead until you see a cat sitting in front of a locked gate. Interact with the cat to make it unlock the castle gate for you. Step inside the castle, and right away, you will see three cats suddenly run off in different directions! At this point, you will get a new objective: To find all three cats.
Cat 1
From the entrance of Moon Market, take the right path and follow it until you reach the end. There, you will find two lanterns. Pick up both lanterns, and this will reveal a hidden pathway made of mysterious floating coffins.
Carefully jump across the coffins to reach the other side.
Keep moving forward, and soon you will see a giant sleeping cat resting on the other side of a wide gap. To your left, there will be a magical instrument sitting nearby. One player needs to play the instrument, and as the music plays, hidden platforms will appear, creating a way to cross the gap.
Use these moving platforms to carefully navigate to the other side and retrieve the missing cat. Once you have the cat, make your way back to the main gate and interact with the cat-shaped lock.
Cat 2
For Cat #2, take the left path from the entrance of Moon Market and jump across the wooden ramps to reach the other side. Keep moving forward until you find a mysterious door. Interact with it to trigger a cutscene, where a pink cat suddenly flies away.
As soon as the cat runs off, start chasing after it. To keep up, you will need to jump onto the broomsticks of witches who are flying through the sky. Ride the brooms as they carry you to a strange house with bird-like legs.
Once you arrive, you will need to climb to the top of the house. At the very top, you will find the cat hidden inside a chest. Make one player open the chest, while the other player grabs the cat.
Finally, use the floating books as platforms to glide back down to the Moon Market. Once you return, interact with the cat-shaped lock on the main gate.
Cat 3
For the last cat, start at the main gate and turn around. Take the left path and follow it until you reach a garden. In this garden, you will see a large door with a colorful image of a cat on it. On the ground in front of the door, there will be a sketch of the same image, but it has no color.
To open the door, you need to color the sketch on the ground so that it perfectly matches the colorful image on the door. Work carefully to fill in the right colors in the correct spots.
Once the ground sketch is colored correctly, the door will open, revealing a path inside. Follow this new path, and soon you will find the last missing cat hiding under a giant mushroom. To reach the cat, lift the mushroom and grab the cat. Return to the main gate and use the cat to unlock it.
