Mutt Side Quest Guide | How to Find the Dog | Kingdom Come Deliverance II (KCD2)

In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know—where to start the quest and how to find Mutt in the game Kingdom Come Deliverance II.

Find out what happened to Mutt

Go to the marked spot on the map, south of the lake. There, you’ll encounter an NPC Vagabond near a bandit corpse. Defeat him and search the area for an animal carcass nearby, which turns out to be a deer.

Go ask the herbwoman about Mutt

Go to the herbwoman named Bozhena and ask her about your dog. She will tell you to search for your dog at a tavern in Zhelejov or near a fisherman.

Ask about Mutt in the tavern

Go to the tavern in Zhelejov and speak with the innkeeper, Lawrence. He will guide you to a shepherd from Kopanina.

Shepherd from Kopanina

Go north of Tachov to find the shepherd from Kopanina. He will tell you about a pack of wolves with a dog and explain how to lure them out. Agree to help him—you can either use his sheep, Ignatius, as bait or find some meat yourself.

Bait / Meat Location

You can get meat or bait from an enemy camp. Check the location marked on the map, where you’ll find a camp with two bandits. Defeat them and loot the meat bait from their inventory.

Place bait & Hide in the Bush

Once you obtain the bait, head to the slopes marked on the map and place the bait on the ground near the birch tree.

After placing the bait, hide in the nearby bushes and wait for the wolves to arrive. When wolves show up, you can attack them. You can either choose to fight the wolves or let them go.

Return to the shepherd and choose to lie if you don’t fight with the wolves. Siegfried will then tell you to speak with Gamekeeper Vostatek about Mutt.

Ask the gamekeeper where to look for lost Mutt

The Gamekeeper is located west of Tachov. When you speak with the woman there, she’ll tell you that the Gamekeeper, Vostatek, is missing. To find him, you’ll need to complete another side quest called “Lackey” to bring Vostatek back home.

After Vostatek returns, give him some time to rest. Visit him later when he feels better to ask about Mutt. He’ll mention a pack of wolves prowling south of the Normandy camp.

Find Mutt!

Head to the area south of the Nomad camp. Along the path, you’ll spot some animal carcasses. Follow the trail around the rocks, and you’ll discover a wolf den where Mutt is waiting.

After reuniting with Mutt, you can decide to fight the wolves or flee to end the quest.
