‘Octave of Maushiro’ is a time-gated quest in the Tsurumi Island of the Inazuma region. You will get this quest one day after completing ‘A Particularly Particular Author‘ World Quest. This guide shows the complete walkthrough of the quest with all the puzzles.
Talk to Sumida
Your first objective will be to talk to Sumida. She is in Inazuma City on Narukami Island. Her location will be marked on the map. Simply follow the objective marker to reach her.
Travel to Tsurumi Island and talk to Ruu (Get Peculiar Pinion)
Travel to the highlighted location in Tsurumi Island and talk to Ruu. After talking to Ruu, you will get a Peculiar Pinion.
Go to your Destination and use the Feather
Follow Ruu to the statue. Equip the Peculiar Pinion gadget and use it on the statue. This will make an illusion of “Kama” appear. Talk to the illusion. After talking to the illusion, dig the ground where “Kama” was digging to get a Maushiro.
Go to the Ceremonial Site & Listen in on the locals’ conversations
Follow the objective marker to reach the ceremonial site and listen to the conversation of the three pairs of locals standing and talking there.
Use the feather to search for clues
From the ceremonial site, follow the objective marker to the south to reach Wakukau Shoal. Use the Peculiar Pinion gadget on the purple statue as shown below. This will make an illusion of “Ipe” appear. Talk to the illusion.
Solve the mystery of the stones
After talking to “Ipe”, purple Ishine Scripts will appear on stones in the front. Left to the stones, you will find a purple statue as shown below. Use the Peculiar Pinion gadget on the purple statue.
After you have used the Peculiar Pinion gadget on the purple statue, an Electro Seelie will appear above it. Chase the Seelie until it reaches its court. Near the Seelie Court, you will find another purple statue as shown below. Use the Peculiar Pinion gadget on the purple statue.
After you have used the Peculiar Pinion gadget on the purple statue, Ishine Scripts will appear on the wall in front of the statue as shown below.
Now go back to the stones with Ishine Script on them. Then hit the stones in the same order as the scripts on the wall. This will complete the puzzle.
Go to Oina Beach & Use the feather to search for clues
Follow the objective marker to reach Oina Beach. Use the Peculiar Pinion gadget in front of the statue. This will make purple Ishine Scripts appear on the stones.
Restore the Stones & Solve the Puzzle
To solve this puzzle, move the stones to the front of the tile with the same symbol. The picture below shows the final arrangement of the stones to solve the puzzle. On solving the puzzle, the illusion of “Sayo” will appear
Go to Autake Plains & Use the feather to search for clues
Follow the objective marker to reach Autake Plains. Use the Peculiar Pinion gadget in front of the statue. This will make the illusion of “Ruu” appear.
Continue Looking for Clues
Go to the southern portion of the circled objective area, where you will find a Thunderbird Statue near a Stormstone as shown below. Use the Peculiar Pinion gadget in front of the statue. This will make three Seelie appear nearby.
Find the Missing Stones
After you have used the feather, three Seelie appear nearby. Chase the Seelie and each one of them will lead you to a missing stone (Slate). Seelie will pass through several Stormstones as shown below. If the Stormstones are not already lit, make sure to light them up by hitting them with an electro attack. Once you have got all the three slates, go back to the thunderbird statue and place them there.
Solve the mystery of the stones
After placing the missing stones in their rightful position, Ishine Scripts will appear on the stones. You need to hit the stones in the correct order to solve the puzzle.
Return to the Ceremonial Site & Then report to Sumida
Go back to the ceremonial site. Everybody there will be gone, and the place will be empty. Now go back to Sumida in Inazuma city and give her the Maushiro to complete the quest.
