In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to complete all the objectives of the task ‘Perilous Journey To The Grove’ in The Outer Worlds 2. This task will reward you with two powerful upgrades: a Double Jump Device and the Target Finder Helmet.

Starting Location
To begin A Perilous Journey to the Grove, head to Fairfield. This is the first main town you’ll visit early in the game. Once you enter the town, go to the second building on the left, where you’ll find an NPC named Huell Chaudry standing outside. He is in a green suit. Talk to him, and the quest will be automatically added to your log.
Meet Jackson Plum in Spire Grove
As the quest starts, your first job is to locate Jackson Plum in Spire Grove. Head to the Spire Grove, which is just southwest of the Fairfield. Follow the main road until you find a broken elevator. If your Engineering skill is level 3, you can fix it and ride to the top. If you don’t have enough skill, simply climb the scaffolding next to the elevator and walk up the mountain yourself.
Examine Jackson’s Body after He Falls
At the top of the mountain, you’ll see a tall tower built on a rocky pillar. As you get closer, someone (Jackson Plum) will fall from the tower. Check the body at the bottom to find two items: the Schematics and the P.A.L.E Device (double jump).
Note: Before leaving the area, you can also talk to two nearby NPCs stuck at the top of the tower and offer to help them. This starts the optional side quest “A Final Death for Gravity.”
Deliver the Schematics to Huell Chaudry
After obtaining the Recovered Schematics, head back to Fairfield and give them to Huell Chaudry. This will complete the quest, and he’ll reward you with 350 Bits.
