After reaching Natlan, a newly added region in version 5.0, continue heading west to find the quest marker near a teleport waypoint. Locate the NPC with “???” and speak with him to start the quest – Beneath the Crystal Rock
Where to find Red Metal Key Location in Genshin Impact 5.0
Speak with the NPC Titu, and he will ask the traveler to help resolve the Shadow Pin issue and reinforce the seal.
Go to the Lesser Shadow Pin with Titu
Proceed northwest with NPC Titu to the Lesser Shadow Pin’s location. Defeat the enemies in the area, then interact with the golden inscription.
Repair the inscription
Next, interact with the golden inscription near the Lesser Shadow Pins to start the repair. This will trigger a challenge where the traveler needs to break the small engraved stone pillars around the Lesser Shadow Pins and collect the inscription’s power.
To break the engraved stone pillars, travelers need to use the Tepetlisauri Saurian Indwelling. Saurians are dragon-like creatures native to Natlan in Genshin Impact. They can seamlessly make paths by tunneling through rocks, and climbing mountain walls.
Finally, defeat the enemies that spawn in the area and complete the repair.
Repair the inscription 2
Proceed west to reach the next objective marker and defeat the enemies in the area, then interact with the golden inscription.
Find the inscription(s) scattered in other locations
Speak with Titu (NPC) and he will ask you to find the fragments of the inscription. Go to the ledge on the opposite end and use Tepetlisauri Saurian Indwelling to dig into the breakable stone. This will open a portal behind the rocks.
Enter the portal and use Tepetlisauri Saurian Indwelling to tunnel through to the ledge on your left. Enter the tunnel and defeat the enemies in the area.
Search for the inscription(s)
Proceed to the end and drop to the bottom floor. Interact with the stone-like structure to trigger the next objective.
Find a way down
Use the Tepetlisauri Saurian Indwelling to start tunneling through the ground. Interact with the circles on the ground until you get the option to ‘check.’
This will collapse the floor, and you will reach an underground area. Proceed south until you reach the area with the golden inscription. As you approach it, you’ll notice that the area starts to flood.
Find a way to touch the inscription
Once the area is flooded, turn around and navigate through the narrow passage. Defeat the Hilichurls you encounter and interact with the lever.
Swim to the opposite end and detonate the magma to further reduce the water level. Once the water is completely drained, drop down and interact with the golden inscription.
Follow the inscription back to the Lesser Shadow Pin
When you interact with the inscription, it will fly toward the Shadow Pin and create a Spiritway for you to ride. Use the Koholasauri Indwelling ability to travel along the Spiritway back to the Shadow Pin.
As you climb the stairs, interact with the golden mark on the stairs to obtain a Red Metal Key.
