This guide will help players retrieve the box in the 5th main mission, The Onryo Samurai, in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, released on March 20, 2025.
Climb the tower
To start, the player needs to climb up the tower of Katano Castle. Once the player reaches the tower, go to the right side and look for a broken bridge. Jump across the small gap carefully to get to the other side. After that, use the grappling hook to climb to the top of the tower.
Retrieve the box
From the top of the tower, scan the castle to spot enemy positions. The box is located in the center of Katano Castle, inside an unfinished building. First, jump down from the tower into a pile of hay. Then, sneak up on the first enemy and take him out quietly.
Box #1
Next, to eliminate the enemy on the ground, walk on the rope to get closer. Once in the middle of the rope, throw a kunai to take him down from a distance.
Continue to rope walk to reach the unfinished building. Once there, jump onto wooden beams to get closer to the box. Then, drop down below and eliminate the third enemy. After that, retrieve the box #1.
Box #2
After retrieving the first box, climb up the scaffolding on the north side to reach the top of the building.
Next, use the grappling hook to swing from a tree to the next building. Once on the roof, go to the northern edge and scan the area to spot enemy positions.
First, jump down and quietly eliminate the enemy below. Then, move to the right and crawl through a hole in the wall to enter the next compound.
Take cover in the tall grass and move slowly toward the north.
Use a kunai to eliminate the enemy ahead, then enter the building from the back.
Pass through two doors to find the box.
Box #3
Now, exit the building from the back and head west. Go up the wooden ramp and climb the scaffolding to reach the top.
Then, continue moving west and eliminate the guard.
Next, walk along the roof in the south direction. From above, look down to spot an NPC enemy named Onryo Samurai on the ground. Use the grappling point on a tree to swing down toward him, then jump down to eliminate him. Finally, retrieve the last box from him.
