You will get Scavenger Hunt optional mission by talking to Norma in the hallway of the classroom section of the Motherlobe. You will run into Norma in the classroom hallway after you get a new outfit. During the main mission, Norma stole your clothes and will offer to return them to you if you found 16 missing psychonauts assets.
You will find these items in the 4 real-world hubs (Motherlobe, Quarry, Questionable Area, and Green Needle Gulch) in the game. You won’t be able to hand over the items to Norma until you have finished the game. You also won’t be able to collect all the items until the later stages of the game. Completing the quest unlocks the Keep Your Shirt On Trophy/Achievement. This article shows the location of all the 16 items you need to collect for the quest.
Objective: Norma said that if I get all these items for her class project she will give me back my clothes
#1 Day Old Sushi Location (Motherlobe)
It is in the Noodle Bowl section in the Motherlobe. Go inside and you will find it sitting on top of a counter at the left side of the room as shown below.
#2 Psychonaut Name Plaque Location (Motherlobe)
The Plaque is inside the Agents section in the Motherlobe. Go inside the Agents section and you will see it on the door at the left portion of the main lobby as shown in the picture below.
#3 Deck of Cards Location (Motherlobe)
Go to the Bowling Alley in the Astral Lanes section of Motherlobe. Perform three strikes (Strike down all pins in a single roll) to get the Deck of Cards.
#4 Enemy Surveillance Device Location (Motherlobe)
Go inside the classroom section of Motherlobe and enter the Artificial Storage room near the fast travel hatch as shown in the pictures below. Burn the picture inside the Artificial storage room to proceed further.
After burning the picture, go inside the newly opened area. On the right side of this area, you will see a locker door as shown below. To open this door you will need Projection ability, which you will get much later in the game during Cassie’s Collection mental level. Unlock the door and get the Enemy Surveillance Device inside the room.
#5 Astronaut Ice Cream Location (Motherlobe)
Go inside the Nerve Center section in the Motherlobe. In the control room, you will see a computer with a bright green screen. Interact with it and another screen nearby will start glowing. You will have to do this 4 times until the screen in the corner in front of the first screen (see the second picture below) will start glowing. Interact with it to get the Astronaut Ice Cream.
#6 Psitanium Knife Location (Quarry)
You will find Psitanium Knife in the Quarry. While coming from the Motherlobe, go to the cave on the right side (Top left corner in the map below). Inside the cave, you will find the knife at the top of the platform near the cave entrance as shown in the picture below.
#7 Agent Orientation Laserdisc Location (Quarry)
Go to Otto’s Lab in the Quarry. You will find the disc inside a small room on the right side at the back of the lab. The path leading to the disc is electrified. Use levitation ability to float on the air to reach the Agent Orientation Laserdisc.
#8 Unexploded Bomb Location (Quarry)
The Unexploded Bomb is in the abandoned mine (Location marked as G on the map). It is on top of a wooden plant hanging from a crane. Light the campfire in front of it to create an updraft. Use the updraft to jump to the top of the wooden plank and get the Unexploded Bomb.
#9 Novelty Mug Location (Questionable Area)
It is inside the Lumberstack diner (Location marked as E on the map). Inside the diner, you will find a locked door. To open this door you will need Projection ability, which you will get much later in the game during Cassie’s Collection mental level. Unlock the door and get the Novelty Mug from the shelf on the left inside the room.
#10 Human Skull Location (Questionable Area)
You will find the Human Skull in the Fierro’s Funicular (Location marked as B on the map). Start the Funicular by finding the three missing cogwheels and put them back on the machine (See the picture below). This will start the ride. Jump on the cart going up. You will find the Human Skull on the cart coming down on the left side.
#11 Switchblade Hatchet Location (Questionable Area)
It is at the top of the waterwheel. Approach the waterwheel and use the Time Bubble ability on it. You will learn the Time Bubble ability during the “PSI Kings Sensorium” level. Use the Time Bubble ability on the waterwheel to slow it down. Then jump on it to reach the top and get the Switchblade Hatchet.
#12 Can of Corn Location (Questionable Area)
Can of Corn is inside the Cave of Sassclops (Location marked as C on the map). Go inside the cave and burn the campfire. This will create an updraft. Use the updraft to jump to the platform above and get the Can of Corn.
#13 Mini Murder Bug Bot Location (Green Needle Gulch)
It is on the balcony at the top of Nona’s River House (Location marked as A on the map) in Green Needle Gulch. Inside the house, take the ladder to reach the upper level. Near the bed, you will see thorns blocking the path to the balcony. Burh the thorn to clear the path and go to the balcony to reach the Mini Murder Bug Bot.
#14 Viking Helmet Location (Green Needle Gulch)
Viking Helmet is in Helmut’s Stage (Location marked as C on the map) in Green Needle Gulch. You will find it sitting in front of the van as shown below.
#15 Beehive Shaped Like My Phone (Green Needle Gulch)
It is in Cassie’s Hives (Location marked as I on the map). Take the wooden stairs in front of Cassie’s house. Go till the end of the stairs, then climb the vines to get to the backside of the house and get the item as shown in the picture below.
#16 Signed Copy of Mindswarm (Green Needle Gulch)
After completing the Cassie’s Collection main mission, go to Compton’s Menagerie (Location marked as E on the map) in Green Needle Gulch. Talk to Cassie to get the Signed Copy of Mindswarm.
Give the Assets to Norma
Once you have completed the game, you can give all the items to Norma. She will be standing in front of the lockers inside the classroom section of Motherlobe. Give her the items to get back your old clothes. You can change the clothes inside the bathroom in the Noodle Bowl section of the Motherlobe.
