Should you Shut Down or Destroy the Core?

In the Sentinel’s Keep / Core Tower region of N’Erud within Remnant 2, a crucial decision awaits you: Destroy the Core or Shut Down the Core? This guide shows you the advantages of each option and provides directions on acquiring the distinct boss weapons associated with both choices.


Shut Down the Core & Side with The Custodian

If you’d like to side with the Custodian then you’ll be required to shut down the core. Proceed to the top of Sentinel’s Keep and interact with the console. This will initiate a boss encounter with Sha’Hala: The Spectral Guardian of N’Erud, an alternate boss.

Defeating the Sha’Hala, and you’ll get the Eidolon Shard as a reward. Keep in mind you must start the fight without overriding the console.

Unlocks Alepsis-Taura Area

After defeating the Sha’Hala Boss, Alepsis-Taura in N’Erud become accessible and you can visit it to claim the Void Heart (Relic). Alepsis-Taura gets unlocked 24 hours (Real life) after defeating Sha’Hala Boss. You can even quit the game. Just don’t Re-Roll the map.

Destroy the Core & Side with The Guardian

To align yourself with the Custodian, you must opt to destroy the core. Head towards the console and interact with the slot located on the right side of the display. Then, insert the “Override Pin” to proceed. This will initiate a boss encounter with Sha’Hala: The Spectral Guardian of N’Erud

Defeat Boss Sha’Hala to obtain the Void Cinder you can use to craft this weapon.

Craft Aphelion Long Gun

Head back to Ward 13 and talk to Ava McCabe to craft the Aphelion Long Gun using Void Cider.
