The North Brae House Puzzle is one of the trickier puzzles in Silent Hill: Townfall, found during Part 4: Chapter 10: Missing Parts. You’ll need to explore the house and switch between different tape settings. In this guide, we’ll show you how to solve the North Brae House Puzzle, where to find tapes, and figure out the correct code to get the Barcode (Upper Brae) Locker Card.
Once you’re inside North Brae House, head upstairs and enter the room on the left.
You’ll find a tape player with Tape: Today already inserted. Also, pick up the Paper Code Today note from the table.
While you’re still upstairs, go to the small bedroom at the end of the hallway. Inside, you’ll find a small box that you can open to collect Tape: Yesterday.
Take the tape back to the tape player and insert it to completely change your surroundings inside the house. Once the environment changes, head downstairs and enter the living room. Look between the sofas and open the box to collect Tape: Tomorrow.
Next, head into the kitchen and look around the corner of the kitchen table. You’ll find another Code note with the message, “Today my number was 192.” Make a note of this number.
Return to the tape player and insert Tape: Tomorrow. Press play to change the environment again. Head back downstairs and check the pillow in the corner of the living room. You’ll find another note with the message, “Today my number was 125.”
While you’re downstairs, go into the kitchen and look at the box on the counter. Open it to collect Tape: Do Not Play. After using the tape, return downstairs and check the kitchen counter to find the Back Door Key.
Return upstairs and insert the Tape: Do Not Play. Go back downstairs and grab the Back Door Key from the kitchen counter.
Head upstairs again and switch the tape player back to Tape: Tomorrow. Then go downstairs and enter the kitchen. Use the Back Door Key to unlock the back door to reach the storage area.
Enter the storage area and crouch inside to find a Postcard. Collect it before returning to the house.
Now return upstairs and play Tape: Today in the tape player. Once the environment changes, go back downstairs and use the Back Door Key to unlock the door leading to the alley. Enter the storage area outside and look for the Ammonite Disk on the wooden table. Pick it up and take it back inside the house.
Make your way upstairs again and switch the environment to Tape: Yesterday. Once the setting changes, interact with the computer and insert the Ammonite Disk into the drive. You’ll then be able to retrieve the Current Count document. This document contains a string of numbers that you can compare with the numbers found on the notes earlier.
Now you can work out the code for the locked metal box. The notes give you two important numbers from different points in time: 192 and 125. By checking these numbers against the sequence shown in the Current Count document, you can identify the number that appears between them.
The clues break down as follows:
- Day/Code Before: 192
- Day/Code After: 125
- Number between them: 129
Enter 129 on the locked metal box. The box will open, allowing you to collect the Barcode (Upper Brae) Locker Card from inside.
