This guide shows how to solve the Mantis floor puzzle in Lair of the Mantis. To solve the puzzle, you need to walk on the alphabet grid.
Towards the end of the Mantis base, you’ll encounter a puzzle room filled with turrets and traps. On the ground, you’ll notice multiple rows of buttons marked with letters of the alphabet. Stepping on the incorrect buttons will trigger the turrets.
To successfully solve the Mantis Floor puzzle, you must loot one of the defeated Spacers along your path. One of your Spacers possesses Leon’s Recording, specifically a “Sic Semper Tyrannis” data slate.
Navigate to your inventory and listen to it in order to gather additional information about the base. The passphrase required to unlock the puzzle is the term “TYRANNIS” You can simply walk over the correct alphabet buttons to safely traverse the floor.
