This article will guide the player on how to complete all the objectives of the side quest ‘The Crimson Cave’ in the game Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered.
Starting Location
The Crimson Cave quest is immediately available after completing the side quest Burning Trail and receiving the Mythic Dawn Robe and Hood from Ranaline. As the quest starts, the player needs to head to the Mingo Cave located south of Imperial City. Refer to the map below.

Enter Mingo Cave
Once you reach the Mingo Cave, equip the Mythic Dawn Robe and Hood and enter the cave.

Burn the Pyre
Once you’re inside the cave, you can look around freely because the Mythic Dawn members won’t attack you. Keep following the path until you meet an NPC named Mehrunes’ Harbinger. Talk to him, and he’ll ask you to burn the Imperial who is trapped in a cage by lighting the fire below him.

You have two choices: No matter which option you choose, you’ll get the same outcome and rewards.
- Light the fire and burn the Imperial.
- Fight and defeat all the Mythic Dawn members instead.
After you follow her command, she says you’ll be the Prince’s messenger and wear his special armor. If you ever need more, just call her to make it—because it’s too powerful for regular people to craft.

Conjure the Harbinger
To call the Harbinger, open the magic menu and use the spell to summon Mehrune’s Harbinger. Once she appears, talk to her to get your special DLC weapon and armor rewards. She will let you choose the type of gear you want, like Cataclysm Armor and Weapon.

Cataclysm Horse Armor
Finally, head to the Chestnut Handy Stables located west of Imperial City. At Chestnut Handy Stables, talk to Snak gra-Bura to get a free horse Armored Old Nag.
