The Deluge Side Quest
This guide shows how to complete the “Rescue the Survivors” objective, during “The Deluge” Side Quest in Horizon Forbidden West. As the objective starts, you will be at the location marked below.
Rescue the survivors trapped in the metal tower
Jump into the water and swim north of the tower as shown in the picture below.
Push down the tree on the north side of the tower. Then walk over the tree and jump down on the platform down below inside the building as shown in the pictures below.
Now use pullcaster to pull down the crate as shown in the picture below, then look up on the right side and use pullcaster to pull down the beam as shown in the second picture below.
Jump on the top of the crate that you pulled down before and then climb up the ledge as shown below.
Then jump on top of the beam you pulled down before, to reach the upper level. Go out through the vent and then climb the ladder to reach the roof.
Jump on the roof of the building on the east side and drop down through the hole on the roof as shown in the picture below. The building will be flooded. Swim to the surface and talk to the survivors there.
Jump on the ledges to reach the platform as shown in the picture below.
Now use the pullcaster to pull down two vertical beams as shown below.
Jump on the beams and then climb the ladder to reach the upper platform as shown in the picture below. Use pullcaster to open the vent and go out of the tower.
Go to the Grotto & Rescue the survivors trapped on the watchtower
From the metal tower, jump down into the water and swim northeast to Grotto, where you will find a few machines as shown in the picture below. Defeat the machines and then talk to the survivors.
Rescue the survivors trapped on the cliff
Swim towards the crane as shown below.
Then dive into the water in front of the crane as shown below. Ignite the firegleam on the rubbles underneath the crate to blow them up. This will move the crane down.
Now climb up the ladder on the small tower behind the crane. Use pullcaster to release the counterweight from the crane as shown in the picture below.
Jump on the crane and climb up two ladders on the crane as shown below. Then use ledges to jump one level further up in the crane.
Go to the end of the crane’s arm and shoot the cable spoon as shown below. This will free the crane’s arm and make a way for you to reach the survivors. Talk to the survivors to complete the objective.
