Starting Location
The Flesh is Weak is a Haunting Case that will triggered automatically during the Hungry the Hunter quest in The Dark Woods. In this case, the player needs to speak with both Jacob and Benedict to close the haunting Case.
Go to the Campfire, indicated by a blue torch with a red ribbon beside a narrow door. Inside speak with Jacob, who has been waiting for his friend Ben’s return for a long time.
Solve the haunting of Jacob Lynde
Start exploring the house for clues after accepting the case from Jacob. Inspect the fur blanket at the center of the room and also the knife and meat on the table.
Find a rope
The Rope is in the house where you accepted the haunting case from Jacob. The Rope is on the wooden barrel near the entrance.
Find Benedict Stoughton
Exit the house and move northeast into the mountains to examine the quickmyst. Jump to the other wooden platform and use the rope to down the cliff into the Quickmyst.
Once you’ve down the cliff, switch to Antea, who is unaffected by the fog, and cross the river.
Pass the fallen tree log and continue. At the end, turn right to see a small broken wooden bridge.
To eliminate the quickmyst, go to the other side of the bridge and destroy the odd-looking stalagmites. Defeat the enemies that spawn.
Inspect the area where you removed the quickmyst and perform the Harkening Ritual. To carry off the ritual, you will need three Wild Chervils and one Lilac Hyacinth.
The Ritual permits the player to experience Benedict’s last moments when Jacob pushed him from the cliff.
After seeing the final moments, jump over the broken bridge and walk along the edge of the mountain wall. Climb down the cliff to locate Benedict’s corpse along the riverbank.
Find the tie that binds the ghost
Retrace your steps to the house where you accepted the haunting case and picked up the bowl and spoon from the table. Perform a Make-Manifest Ritual to summon Ben. Finally, speak with him to get his side of the narrative.
