This article will guide you through all the objectives of the “The Iron Hand Guild” side mission in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Starting Location
This quest can be initiated by speaking with an NPC Imai Sokun in the Sakai area of Izumi Settsu. You can find him just north of the Sakai Firearm District. It will be marked with a “!” icon on the map.
Speak with him and he will ask your help to deal with the Iron Hand and his merchant helpers.
The Iron Hand Guild Walkthrough
In this quest, the player has to locate 5 Iron Guild members. Players have the option to go the peaceful route and collect the intel or eliminate Guild Members and loot the drops to get intel.
Iron Hand Guild Member 1: Merchant Tamao
Merchant Tamao can be found at Honpoji Temple in Kyoto. He’s located inside a locked building. To make him come out, break all the vases and pots around the house.
Eliminate him and loot the quest item “Letter regarding Kyoto”.
Iron Hand Guild Member 2: Merchant Kin-no-Suke
Head to the bandit camp located in Onyu Pass, Wasaka. Sneak into the camp and examine the note on the table to gather intel on Kin-no-suke.
After acquiring the letter, head to Obama in Wakasa. Cross the river north of Kara Market. On the north side of the river, you will find a merchant and hand over the letter to the merchant. Refer to the location marked on the map. Kin-no-suke is located at the east end of the Trading Port area.
After delivering the letter, the player can choose to either eliminate Kin-no-suke to obtain the intel or spare him and steal the document instead. Once the conversation ends at the end of Trading Pass, choose to let him go.

Next, you can enter the small building just near the bridge as marked on the map and loot the document there. The location of the building is marked below.
Iron Hand Guild Member 3: Merchant Ginroku
Merchant Merchant Ginroku can be found outside the west entrance of Miyazu Castle at Miyazu Bay in Tamba. Assassinate him to get his quest item “Letter regarding Tamba”.
Iron Hand Guild Member 4: Merchant Kanta
To find the missing ship, go to the central part of Lake Biwa in the in-game map. There, you’ll see a small island called Okishima. Refer to the location marked on the map below.
Once you are on the island, send your scouts to search for the ship. They should be able to find the shipwreck on the west side of the island.
Go to where the ship is and defeat the enemies nearby. Pick up the small note “Shipping Manifest” on the ship. This note will give you a clue that leads to Merchant Kanta.
Merchant Kanta can be found at Rice Shipyard near Otsu Upper District in the Mouth of Seta in OMI. Eliminate him to loot “Letter regarding Otsu Port”.
Iron Hand Guild Member 5: Iron Hand
Merchant Iron Hand can be found southeast of Fukuchiyama Castle at Fukuchiyama in Tamba. Assassinate him to get his quest item “Letter from Iron Head”.
After defeating the “Iron Hand” the leader returns to the quest-giver NPC in Sakai to end the quest.
