In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to Find the Drive Overloader & Lower the Platform for the the side quest ‘For Whom the Bridge Tolls’ in The Outer Worlds 2.
Starting Location
To begin the “A Final Death for Gravity” side quest, head to Sovereign’s Sweet Spire Grove, which is found just southwest of Fairfield. Refer to the map below. Once you reach the top, approach the tower in the area. As you get close, Jackson Plum will fall from above and die on impact. Examine Jackson’s body to loot Double Jump (Thruster Boots). This will also trigger a conversation with two other NPCs (Othaham and Ferch) at the top of the tower. Offer to help them out to start the quest “A Final Death for Gravity”
Where to Find the Drive Overloader & Lower the Platform
As the quest begins, your primary objective is to locate the Drive Overloader and then utilize it to lower the platform. First, turn around and head to the right side of the building and look for a conveyor belt ramp. Start climbing up the structure.
Once you’re on the roof, use your Double Jump (Thruster Boots) to reach the first hanging platforms.
From the first hanging platform, turn left and double jump across another platform, and then make your way upward. continue to follow the scaffolding on the side of the mountain. Follow the scaffolding along the side of the mountain until you reach a table with the Drive Overloader on it and collect it.
Keep climbing higher until you reach the top of the cliff, then perform a running double jump to land on top of the harvester.
Inside the harvester, you’ll find the Harvester Automech Control Unit. Insert the Drive Overloader into the control unit to lower the platform.
