This guide shows how to complete the “Go to the top of Drumroot” objective in “The Roots That Bind” side quest in Horizon Forbidden West.
Go to the top of Drumroot
After talking to Kue, go to the path behind him until you reach the waterfall. Climb up the mountain wall on the left side of the waterfall as shown in the second picture below.
After climbing the wall, turn right and go straight ahead. Cross the waterfall and climb up the wall as shown in the pictures below.
Then turn left and proceed ahead until you reach a small lake. Dive into the water behind a giant stone as shown below. Follow the blue glowing flowers underwater and it will lead you to the surface of a different area in the cave.
Proceed ahead and you will reach to a room with a few machines. Climb on the wall right in the front as shown in the picture below. Then jump to the ground on the right side.
Proceed ahead in a linear path and jump down at the end of the path as shown below. Then proceed in the tunnel on the right side.
While going through the tunnel, you will find an exit point. Donot exit the cave from there. Continue straight ahead until you reach the waterfall. Jump on the rock as shown in the picture below, then slide left on this rock and climb up to its surface.
From this rock, jump down n another rock on the south side as shown below.
Then latch the pullcaster to the grappling point as shown in the picture below to reach the upper level.
Turn right and grab the rocks on the cave wall to reach the higher level as shown in the picture below.
Stand on the perch and jump down to the lower level. Then latch the pullcaster on a grappling point straight ahead, to reach the surface on the east side of the cave as shown in the picture below.
Now grab the rocks on the cave wall to reach the top of Drumroot as shown in the pictures below. Collect 6 Widemaw Metal Pods here to complete the objective.
