This guide shows how to complete the “The Spice of Life” Side Quest in chapter 9 in the Corel Region of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth game, released on 29th February 2024.

Starting Location
To begin the subquest, go to the Gongaga Village Community Noticeboard or speak with the questgiver (Cissnei). She is making Gongaga mushroom soup but lacks the right Ingredients and needs help in gathering them.
Look for the Produce Peddler
After accepting the quest leave the house and go to the dog (carrying goods) and speak with the nearby people nearby.
Follow Melon
Start following Melon (Dog) to reach Torgan’s farm.
Gather Ingredients
Now you need to collect Gongaga Rock Salt and Magonga Mushrooms.
Gather Rock Salt
After speaking with Torgan, follow Melon again and he will take you to rock salt. Defeat enemies on the way. You can match the Sketch that Torgan provided you for the exact ingredient. Rock Salts are pink salts shaped like triangles. Players need to collect three rock salt deposits and these are pretty easy to locate in the surrounding area.
Gather Ingredients
Hop on your Chocobo and head to Magon Hill which is located south of Gongaga Village to collect Magonga Mushrooms.
Use your Chocobo to smell and find the Magonga mushrooms.
To pick the mushroom, the player will need to play a minigame where the player tugs sections of the mushroom in the right order.
Players need to check the pliability first. Pick the side that bends the most, then press the R2 button to tug. Next, choose the second, and finally the third. Remember, pliability varies for each player.
Deliver the Ingredients
Return to Cissnei to deliver the ingredients and end the quest.
