This article will guide you on how to complete the quest “The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes” in Genshin Impact 4.2
Starting Location
To begin the quest, go to the Marcotte Station in the nation of Fontaine. Interacting with a stone tablet on one of Marcotte Station’s fountains to start the quest chain. Refer to the below images.
Search for the Foggy Forest Path
Follow the quest marker to the Foggy Forest Path until you come to an altar. Examine the item on the altar
Reveal the altar’s secrets
To complete the objective, you will need to solve three Dew Bubbles & Harmonious Reed Pipe puzzles at the locations shown in the picture below.
How to solve Dew Bubbles & Harmonious Reed Pipe Puzzle
There are three steps to solving these puzzles.
Step 1: Get the Ball Octopus Ability
At all three locations, you will find a pedestal with a blue orb on top of it as shown in the picture below. Interact with the blue orb to get the Ball Octopus Ability.
Step 2: Destroy contaminated bacterial mat to release Dew Bubbles
Use the Ball Octopus Ability to destroy contaminated bacterial mats in the puzzle area. This will release two Dew Bubbles in the area as shown in the picture below.
Step 3: Activate Harmonious Reed Pipes
The Harmonious Reed Pipe requires the ripples released by bursting Dew Bubbles to be activated. There are three Harmonious Reed Pipes in each puzzle area. On top of the Harmonious Reed Pipes, you will see some runes, as shown in the picture below. The number of runes displayed on top shows the order in which the Harmonious Reed Pipes need to be activated to complete the puzzle. When there are multiple pipes with the same number of runes, then these pipes must be activated at the same time.
Puzzle 1
For this puzzle, all three Harmonious Reed Pipes have 1 rune on top. So, they need to be activated simultaneously to complete the puzzle. Use the Ball Octopus Ability to move the dew bubbles to the center of the three pipes and merge them together as shown in the picture below. Now burst the dew bubble, and this will release a ripple, activating the three pipes simultaneously. This will complete the first puzzle.
Puzzle 2
For this puzzle, pipes need to be activated in the order shown in the picture below.
Puzzle 3
For this puzzle, pipes need to be activated in the order shown in the picture below. Solving the three puzzles completes the objective.
Examine the item on the altar
Finally, return to the mysterious altar and pick up. This will complete the sub-quest Foggy Forest Path.
Search for the key near the Weeping Willow – Wilting Weeping Willow
To complete the objective ‘Search for the key near the Weeping Willow‘ for the Witling Weeping Willow quest in Genshin Impact 4.2, teleport to the location marked on the map below.
Enter the cave and dive into the water. Follow the cave path until you find an altar at the bottom
In order for a drop-key to appear on the altar. First of all, you need to free the xenochrome globular octopus in order to use its ability. Swim up to the Xenocromatic Creatures on the right side and borrow the skill by pressing the left mouse button.
Use Xenocromatic Creatures’ ability to cut the seaweed above the altar where an octopus is caged.
Then, acquire the skill from the xenochrome globular octopus and clean the contaminated mucus near the altar.
This will release a Dew Bubble in the area. Now you must move this Dew bubble to the altar using the octopus ability. Place the Dew bubble in the middle of the altar, so that the bursting Dew bubble will activate the Reed Pipe. The Harmonious Reed Pipe requires the ripples released by bursting Dew Bubbles to be activated.
Finally, examine the item on the altar to complete the sub-quest Wilting Weeping Willow
Search for the key near the Mouth of the Spring
To complete the objective, teleport to the location marked on the map below. Dive into the water.
You need to dive near the southern part of the lake. Swim up to the Xenocromatic Creatures (crab) on the right side and borrow the skill by pressing the left mouse button.
Use Xenocromatic Creatures’ ability and clear the contaminated mucus.
Next, head to the north part of the lake. Swim up to another Xenocromatic creature (crab) and borrow the skill by pressing the left mouse button.
Use Xenocromatic Creatures’ ability and clear the contaminated mucus. Finally, examine the item on the altar.
Subdue the enraged Vishap
Finally, defeat enraged Vishap to complete the subquest – Furious Mouth of the Spring
Insert the Waterdrop Keys into the statue – Luxurious Chest
Go back to the Marcotte Station in the nation of Fontaine and insert the Waterdrop Keys into the statue. This will reveal a secret passage under the square.
Enter inside the secret passage and continue to go deeper to find a Luxurious Chest.
Cleanse the filth near the root – Within the Depths of Erinnyes
Continue to go deeper further into the passage. In the end, cleanse the filth near the “root” and defeat all the monsters. Continue to go with the flow to end the quest.
