Treasure Hunt is a secret side quest in Dying Light 2, which released on 4th February 2022. This guide shows how to unlock the secret side quest “Treasure Hunt” and how to decode the note to find the secret treasure.
How to Start the “Treasure Hunt” Secret Side Quest
To get the quest, you need to select the “Keep Map” option at the end of “The Deserter” side quest. This will automatically start the “Treasure Hunt” side quest.
How to Decode the note to find hidden treasure
Follow the objective marker to reach the book as shown in the picture below.
On reading the book, you will learn about Bacon’s Cipher. In this cipher, a letter is replaced by a series of alphabets. After reading the book, read the note kept next to it. In the note, you will find an Encrypted Message as shown in the picture below. Use the Cipher to decode the message.

Find the Hidden Treasure
The treasure is in the basement of the Wharf Water Tower at the location marked in the picture below.
Go to the basement through the entrance shown in the pictures below.
Go down and jump down to the lowest level as shown in the picture below. Then jump down further into the water.
The safe is underwater at the bottom of the basement as shown below.
Enter the safe code 3-21-67. This will open the safe. Then collect the explosives inside to complete the quest.
