In order to break the gray crystals, you must first release Khvarena and follow it like you would a Seelie. Khvarena resembles a green flying Seelie with wings. To free Khvarena, you need to find and break the rock that is located nearby. The rock will be indicated by a small arrow to ensure that you do not miss it. To break the rock, you will need to use a powerful character.
Once Khvarena has been freed, follow it toward the gray crystals, which will be destroyed automatically. This will unlock the “Shining in the Mire” achievement and allow you to proceed with “The Splendorous Sky That Day” quest.
