Valorant is the free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter developed and published by Riot Games. Its closed Beta was launched on 7 April 2020 and made hedlines by becoming the most watched streamed game for April 2020. The game is now heading for its full release on 2nd June, free for all on PC.
In a blog post Game Director Joe Zielger said “If you’ve been following along, you probably heard our announcement that VALORANT is launching to most of the world* on June 2 (yes that also includes you OCE!). That’s in a few weeks (we also said that)!”.
The closed beta will end on May 28 and the entire server will go into maintenance to prepare for Game Launch. Once the entire game is live, all the progress made during the closed BETA would be reset. Shortly after the launch a few new elements will also be released: New game mode, New map and a new character.
We asked Riot’s plan regarding releasing the game on consoles like PS4, Switch or Xbox One. We havent heard back from them yet but it seems like right now they will be solely focusing on a succesfull launch on PC. Consoles release isnt on the cards right now and a 2020 release seems extremely unlikely.
