FF7 Rebirth: Where the Wind Blows
This guide shows how to complete the Where the Wind Blows Side Quest in Chapter 2 of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth game, which released on 29th February 2024. You can get this quest from the noticeboard or by talking to Broden in the Inn as shown in the pictures below. This quest will be available after you have completed the other 3 Noticeboard quests.
Speak with Mildred
Go to the Windmill Settlement as shown in the picture below and speak to Mildred there.
Obtain the Transmuter Chip
Analyze two lifesprings as shown in the picture below to reveal the location of the Transmuter Chip.
Transmuter Chip is in the Bygone Settlement as shown in the picture below. Transmuter Chip is one of the three artifacts there. Mount a Chocobo and search the area for the artifacts. When the “?” symbol appears, use your Chocobo sniff-out and dig the artifact. The location of the Transmuter Chip is shown in the second picture below.
Procure Materials (Quetzalcoatl Talon)
Now you will need to find materials (1 Quetzalcoatl Talon, 2 Iron Ore, 1 Lea Titanium, 5 Beast Bone) to craft windmill gear. All the materials are easy to find, except Quetzalcoatl Talon. How to get Quetzalcoatl Talon is explained in the article below.
How to get Quetzalcoatl Talon
Analyse two more Lifesprings as shown in the picture below. This will reveal the location of the Quetzalcoatl boss. The location of Quetzalcoatl boss is shown in the second picture below. Go to the marked location and start the boss fight by pressing the “Engage Enemy” prompt as shown in the third picture below. Defeat the Quetzalcoatl boss to get Quetzalcoatl Talon.
Craft Windmill Gear
Once you have all the materials, craft the Windmill Gear. Level 4 craftmanship is required to craft the windmill gear. Then go back to Mildred and deliver the windmill gear. Then report back to Broden in the Inn to complete the quest.
