If you’re trying to join the New Camp in Gothic 1 Remake, finding Lares is one of the most important steps in the process. He’s the person who decides whether you’ve done enough to earn a place among the camp’s outcasts. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find Lares in the New Camp and how to reach him without getting turned away by the guards.
From the main entrance of the New Camp, walk inside and head through the rice fields. Follow the main path straight ahead and go uphill. You’ll pass two guards along the way, including one named Jarvis.
Keep following the path until you reach a wooden bridge. Cross it and continue forward. You’ll soon see the tavern on your right. Don’t go inside or straight. Instead, turn left into the large open area just before the tavern. This will take you to a huge cave that serves as the New Camp’s residential area.
Enter the cave and follow the path downhill. Take the first path on your left. After passing the first hut, look to your left for a set of wooden stairs. Climb the stairs and walk past the two guards standing there. Lares’s house is just ahead.
How to Get Past Rosco
At the top of the stairs, Rosco, Lares’s personal guard, will stop you. Simply tell him that Mordrag sent you.
Rosco will let you pass, allowing you to finally meet Lares and continue your journey in the New Camp.
