This guide will walk you step by step through how to reach the Key of Apostate and where to use the Apostate Key in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Key of Apostate Location
The Key of Apostate can be found in the Putrified Duct, a hidden area located north of Bilewater. To reach it, you’ll need to progress through Bilewater, defeat its guardian boss: Groal the Great. Refer to the map to locate the boss arena.
Once Groal is down, continue left from the boss’s location. Along the way, you’ll come across a barrier that can be knocked down. From here, you’ll need the Double Jump ability to climb higher platforms and progress upward.
At the top, head left and pass through a series of enemies. After clearing them out, you’ll eventually discover a cage-like structure at the end. Break it open, and inside you’ll find the Key of Apostate.
Where to Use the Key of Apostate in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Once you’ve obtained the Key of Apostate from the Putrified Duct, your next destination is the Slab. You can access the Slab directly from the Choral Chambers. This is where you can use the Key of Apostate.
After entering the area, head to the left side and drop down at the far end. From there, continue descending through several levels and then head right until you reach the locked gate.
Use the Key of Apostate to unlock the path forward.
