This guide shows the complete walkthrough of the “Howling in the Mistwood” quest that you get from Merchant Kale. First I will show how to start the quest, followed by all the objectives. On completing the quest, you will get Bloodhound’s Fang curved greatsword as a reward.
How to start the Merchant Kale’s quest
To start the quest, first, you will need to visit Mistwood Ruins in Limgrave East as shown below.
Once you have visited Mistwood Ruins, go to the Church of Elleh and talk to Merchant Kale.
Now you will get the option to ask Merchant Kale about howling in the Mistwood. He will give you the Finger Snap sign, and tell you to use this sign next tie you hear the howling.
Where to find the Howling Wolf
Go back to the Mistwood Ruins. Pay attention to the sound of howling. When you hear the howling, use the Finger Snap sign as shown in the picture below. This will make a wolf named Blaidd appear. He will be at the northern entrance of the Mistwood Ruins. Talk to him and he will tell you that he is looking for someone named “Darriwil“
Where to find Darriwil
Go to Forlorn Hound Evergaol, which is at the southern portion of Limgrave as shown below.
Stand on the switch at the center, and you can summon “Blaidd the Half Wolf” to help you in the fight.
Darriwil will appear as a glowing blue light as shown in the picture below. Defeat Darriwil and you will get a Bloodhound’s Fang Curved Greatsword. Talk to Blaidd after the fight and he will give you a Somber Smithing Stone [2]. He will also tell you to meet the Blacksmith in Raya Lucaria and tell him that Blaidd sent you.

The vendor is near the Road to the Manor Site of Grace in Liurnia as shown in the pictures below. His name is Smithing Master Iji and he sells Somber Smithing Stone 1,2,3 & 4.
Keep talking to him until you get the “Blaidd sent me” option. Now Falian Filigreed Crest will also be available for purchase at 5000 Runes. This completes the quest.
