Quest requirement
When the Forest is No Longer Dim is an Exploration Quest that gets unlocked after reaching Union Level 20 and completing the Tutorial Quest SOL3 Ascension: Phase 1
Starting Location: Inquire the anxious researcher about the situation
Speak with the anxious researcher in the northeastern part of Jinzhou City to start the quest. The anxious researcher will ask the player to investigate the distress signal that he received from another Researcher.
Head to the location from which the distress signal was sent
Head towards the area in the Forbidden Forest, situated west of Dim Forest. Defeat the Exiles at the camp.
Retrieve the key from one of the cylindrical buildings within the camp and use it to release the captive Researcher.
Venture deeper into the contaminated zones with Qiaomu
Follow the gamer marker to reach a Giant Banyan to locate another researcher.
Search for the missing researcher (Use Sensor)
Activate your Sensor function to begin the search for the missing Researcher. Follow the yellow trail and examine the clues. The first clue consists of animal bodies.
The second clue is located on a fallen tree branch.
The researcher is at the third location.
Head to the First Contaminated Zone
Follow the quest marker to reach the first contaminated zone and then speak with Qiaomu to activate the device.
Obtain the first Offshoot Core sample
Hit the Drone A (once) to activate the mechanism.
Hit Drone B once to rotate it toward Drone C.
Go to Drone C, behind the first contaminated zone, and strike it twice. This will rotate the energy flow toward the first contaminated zone.
Head to the Second Contaminated Zone
Follow the quest marker to reach the second contaminated zone and then speak with Qiaomu to activate the device. Below is the layout and drone position in the Second Contaminated Zone.
Activate Drone A to start the mechanism.
Hit Drone B once. Drone B is near the Second Contaminated Zone.
Hit Drone C once
Hit Drone D twice
Hit Drone E once
Return to the Campsite
Follow the quest marker to return to the camp. At the camp assist Qiaomu and Senmin in making antibodies. You need to follow the instructions of Senmin to pick up the materials. Pick up the material from the box, can, and jar.
Next, follow Hoohoo and defeat the enemies along the path.
Head to the Third Contaminated Zone
Follow the quest marker to reach the final contaminated zone.
Obtain the final Offshoot Core sample
To start the puzzle, hit the Drone A to start the mechanism.
On the left side of Drone A, there are two drones. Hit Drone C twice to rotate the second mechanism and connect it to Drone D
On the right side of Drone A, hit Drone D twice to rotate the mechanism.
Finally, strike the Drone E once. Remember, there are multiple drones in the area. But you don’t need to engage all the drones for the puzzle.
Head to the Abandoned Research Institute
Follow the quest marker to reach the abandoned research institute and defeat all the enemies in the location.
Activate the three signals console (0/3)
First Signal Console
The first console is near the stairs.
Second Signal Console
It is located on the right side of the previous signal console.
Third Signal Console
It is located on the left side of the building.
Head inside the research institute and pick up the memo from the table.
Wait Until Tomorrow Evening
Change the Time between Tomorrow (17:00-19:00) and go back to the researcher camp.
Climb to the Top of the Giant Tree
Head to the giant tree and start climbing to reach the top of the giant tree. Defeat two Hoochiefs at the top.
Finally, return to the camp and speak with the researcher to end the quest.
