This walkthrough will walk you through every step of completing request no. 19 “A Peculiar Ponyta” in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. A Peculiar Ponyta requires you to investigate a mysterious Blue Flame Ponyta roaming the Obsidian Fieldlands.

After completing the Mission “The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods“, this request can be obtained from the Request Board in Jublilife City’s Galaxy Hall.
After accepting the request from the Request Board, proceed to Jubilife Village’s western wooden bridge, as indicated on the map. Speak with Yota at the bridge, and he will tell you about a strange Ponyta roaming around the Horseshoe Plains area of the Obsidian Fieldlands.
After learning about the strange Ponyta, proceed to Horseshoe Plains in the Obsidian Fieldlands. The location is marked below. At Horseshoe Plains area search for strange blue-colored flames Ponyta. Normal color Ponyta has red color flames.
How to catch blue-colored flames Ponyta
A blue-colored flames Ponyta get scared very easily and run away if it notices you. You can hide in nearby grass and stealth your way closer to it. You can also throw some food to lure Ponyta. Once it gets close, throw a Pokeball to catch Ponyta
In case Ponyta runs away during your encounter, you can simply return to Jubilife Village to reset the location and force another Shiny Ponyta to spawn.
Once you’ve successfully nabbed the Shiny Ponyta, return to Yota to complete this Request.
