Poidsear Coast: All 10 Merlin Trial Puzzles
This guide shows how to solve all Merlin Trial puzzles in the Poidsear Coast area of the Hogwarts Legacy game, which released on 10th February 2023. Solving Merlin Trials increases your gear capacity.

1) Stone Platforms Merlin Trial
After the trial starts, jump on four platforms in the water as shown in the pictures below to complete the trial.
2) Light Torches Merlin Trial
To complete the trial, you need to light up three torches nearby. The location of all the torches is shown in the pictures below. Torch #2 is behind some vines. Burn the vines to light up the torch.
3) Moonlight Merlin Trial
After using the Mallowsweet, three stone pillars with moonlight gems will activate in the area nearby. You will also find clusters of butterflies in the area. Go near the butterflies and use the Lumos spell, which will make them follow you. Take them to the giant stone pillar, which will light it up. Light up the three giant stone pillars to complete the Merlin Trial. All the butterflies and pillars are easy to find except one. Go downhill on the path going west and you will find the third stone pillar at the location shown in the second picture below.
4) Destroy Stones Pillars Merlin Trial
After using the Mallowsweet, destroy the five stone pillars around the symbol. All the stone pillars are very easy to spot, except one which is a little bit far as shown in the second picture below.
5) Symbol Pillars Merlin Trial
As the trial starts, three pillars with symbols will become active. The pillars will have another stone cube with symbols placed above them. To complete this trial, you will need to use the Flipendo spell to flip the top stone such that symbol on the pillar and the stone match on all faces as shown in the second picture below.
6) Small Balls Merlin Trial
The location of the Merlin Trial is shown in the picture below. Go to the marked location and use Mallowsweet on the swirl symbol on the ground to start the trial.
Jump out from the eastern wall of the ruins. You will find the balls and socket along this wall. Guide the balls to the socket as shown in the picture below.
Go to the southern side of the ruins and you will find small balls there. Guide the balls out of the ruins and take them in the west direction as shown in the picture below. When you get to the stairs, guide the balls to the sockets on the west side of the stairs as shown in the second picture below.
The final balls and sockets are in the western part of the ruins as shown in the picture below.
7) Giant Stone Ball Merlin Trial
You will see a giant ball near the trial. Guide it to the wooden platform on the south side as shown in the second picture below. When the ball reaches the edge of the platform, use Depulso or Wingardium Leviosa to make it cross the gap and reach the hole on the other side.
8) Giant Stone Ball Merlin Trial
You will see a giant ball near the trial. Drop it from the eastern side of the ruins as shown in the second picture below. Then guide it to the hole as shown in the third picture below to complete the trial. The hole will be covered with a wooden plank. Destroy the wooden plank and then drop the ball into the hole.
9) Moonlight Merlin Trial
After using the Mallowsweet, three stone pillars with moonlight gems will activate in the area nearby. You will also find clusters of butterflies in the area. Go near the butterflies and use the Lumos spell, which will make them follow you. Take them to the giant stone pillar, which will light it up. Light up the three giant stone pillars to complete the Merlin Trial.
Pillar #1 is next to the trial. Go downhill on the path opposite this pillar to find the first cluster of butterflies. Go out through the gate on the south side to reach Pillar #2. The butterflies are behind the wooden wall next to this pillar. Break the wall to get the butterflies. Climb up the ladder behind Pillar #1 to find the third cluster of butterflies. Then jump down from the north side as shown in the second picture below to reach Pillar #3.
10) Repair Statues Merlin Trial
After using the Mallowsweet, three statues will break down. You need to use the Reparo spell and repair these three statutes to complete the trial. Statue #1 is next to the trial as shown in the second picture below. Go west from the trial to find Statue #2 as shown in the third picture below. Fly to the ruins on the north side of the trial to reach Statue #3 as shown in the fourth picture below. Repair the three statues to complete the trial.
