This guide shows the location of all the collectibles in Chapter 3 of Guardians of the Galaxy. There are 9 collectibles in Chapter 3 ( 2 Outfit, 1 Guardian Collectibles, 3 Archives, and 3 Compendium).
#1 – Galactic Compendium : Spinal Control Unit
It is only available if you obtained the Compendium item in Chapter 1. Go into Rocket’s room at the start of Chapter 3 on your spaceship. Interact with this item, and then Rocket will appear. Here the player must exhaust all dialogues with Rocket to get this Compendium added to your Compendium items.
#2 – Galactic Compendium : Ravager Comm Bracelet
It is only available if you obtained the Compendium item in Chapter 1. Head to Star-Lord’s room at the beginning of Chapter 3 on your spaceship, and interact with the bracelet near the mirror. Here the player must exhaust all dialogues to get this Compendium added to your Compendium items.
#3 – Galactic Compendium : Broken Translation Device
It is only available if you obtained the Compendium item in Chapter 2. Go downstairs into the hangar at the start of Chapter 3 on your spaceship and pick up the device to the immediate left of the stairs. The device is placed on a yellow chest with a flower pot. At this point, Groot will appear. Here the player must exhaust all dialogues with Rocket to get this Compendium added to your Compendium items.
#4 – Archive: Collateral Damage
In Chapter 3 (Jellies), after defeating the first wave of enemies, you have to direct Rocket to use a console that lowers a platform in order to proceed ahead. Once the platform is lowered, Jump on the lowered platform and take a left instead of going straight ahead. Go up the ramp and then take left again to find this on the ground near a crashed spaceship.
#5 – Outfit – Gamora: Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
From the previous collectible’s location, reunite with the other Guardians. Instead of going down the main central pathway (near a red structure with big holes), go to the right to find an optional path leading to an opening in the wall. Crouch under and proceed forward to enter a cave. Destroy the goo in the cave (shown in yellow in visor vision) to access a new area. Defeat all you encounter in the path. Proceed onwards to squeeze through a narrow opening. At the end of the cave, you’ll see a purple container with this Outfit collectible.
#6 – Guardian Collectible: Chitauri Sear-Cuffs
This is available after fighting a new monster type called “Slakebeast”. After the fight, you’ll be in an area where you must command Gamora to climb a wall and lift you up to shoot down a reactor hanging from a roof. After bringing the reactor down, command Drax to place the reactor near the ledge that is opposite the wing of the spaceship. Climb up and then jump down to the platform below to find this on the ground.
#7 – Archive: Off the Grid
From the previous collectible’s location, reunite with the other Guardians. Now, command Drax to put the reactor on the left side (blue outline for where the pillar should go), and then tell Gamora to cut the cables above the spaceship (outlined yellow in Visor Vision). This will cause the spaceship’s wing to fall to the ground. Walk up to the left side of the wing to find the archive. It is directly above where you told Gamora to cut the cable.
#8 – Archive: Stupid Job
This is available after unlocking the Ice Element for Star-Lord’s blasters. The player will need to freeze two platforms and then command Gamora to cut through a wall of back pipes. Immediately after, look to your left on the ground to find this. Make sure to collect it BEFORE dropping down.
#9 – Outfit – Groot: Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse
This is available after defeating the two big Slakebeasts. A player has to command Groot to build a bridge to cross the gap and reach the waterfalls. After going over Groot’s bridge, head left and destroy the grey goo. Continue to follow the path inside the cave until you reach a waterfall. Use Ice Element blasters to freeze the waterfall in the cave and jump up to the other side to find the outfit.
