This article will guide you on how to complete all the objectives of the side quest “The Sotted Sage” in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Starting Location
To start the quest, speak with Jarle inside the building directly across from The Rockmouse’s Burrow in Bakbattahl. Refer to the location below. He wants you to get poisoned by an Asp as he wants to study the poison effect on a living species.
Allow yourself to be poisoned by an asp
The game will mark the possible location of Asp. Asps are purple lizards. Also, remove any poison-resistant armor if you are wearing it.
Go to these locations and attack the Asps but don’t kill them. Wait for it to lick on their weapons and then attack you with the poisonous tip of the weapon.
Return to Jarlie afflicted with Asp venom
Quickly, head back to Bakbattahl and speak with Jarlie.
Allow yourself to be poisoned by a venin harpy
Next, he will ask you to get poisoned by a Venin Harpy. Go to these locations and attack the Venin Harpy but don’t kill them. Wait for it to spit venom on you.
Return to Jarlie afflicted with venin harpy venom
Quickly, head back to Bakbattahl and speak with Jarlie.
Join Jarle at the meeting place
After speaking with Jarle, head to the marked location on the north side of Bakbattahl.
Aid Jarle in being poisoned by the chimera
Jarle wants to be poisoned himself by a Chimera. Enter into the cave to fight with Chimera. The Chimera poisons using its tail so don’t cut its tail in the fight.
You can attack Chimera’s head so that it will attack using its tail. Keep fighting unless Chimera poisons Jarle. After getting poisoned he will run away
Find out how Jarle fared
Head back to Bakbattahl and speak with him again to end the quest.
