Elden Ring: Igon Complete Questline (Get Dragon Form)

This guide shows the complete walkthrough of the Igon NPC questline in Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, which released on 21st June 2023. Completing this questline will unlock Dragon Form and you will also get several other weapons and Armor Sets. There is another way to unlock a Dragon Form, for which you will need a Rock Heart.


Step 1: Talk to Igon

Starting from Gravesite Plain Site of Grace, head in the north direction. Cross the Ellac Greatbridge to reach the Castle Front Site of Grace. Then, travel in the southeast direction of the road to reach the Pillar Path Waypoint. The path is marked with a blue line in the picture below. You will find Igon near the waypoint as shown in the second picture below. Talk to him and exhaust all the dialogues. 


Step 2: Dragon’s Pit

Travel southwest along the path marked by stone dragon statues to reach the Dragon’s Pit dungeon as shown below. On the path, you will be invaded by the Ancient Dragon Man. Defeat him and proceed to the Dragon’s pit. Before entering the Dragon’s Pit, it is recommended to travel south to get Southern Shore Map Fragment from the Cerulean Coast.

Enter Dragon’s Pit and follow the path with lit braziers and candles. It will lead you to a large ramped chamber. Go south there and you will reach a chamber with an Altar and a Pit. Jump into the large pit as shown in the picture below. This will take you to the boss chamber, where you will face Ancient Dragon Man. Defeat him to get the Dragon Hunter’s Great Katana.

Don’t use the teleporter to leave the dungeon after defeating the boss. Open the door on the south side instead and proceed ahead to reach the Dragon’s Pit Terminus Grace Site.


Step 3: Grand Altar of Dragon Communion

Leave the dungeon and proceed east to reach the Foot of the Jagged Peak. As soon as you enter the area, go up on the ridge on the south to find a message from Igon as shown in the picture. Then climb down the ridge and defeat the dragon at the location shown in the second picture below. The blue line shows the path you need to follow to reach the dragon location.

After defeating the dragon, go south to reach the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion as shown in the pictures below. Rest at the Grace site and the Dragon Priestess will appear as shown in the second picture below. Talk to her and exhaust all the dialogues. When you get the option, select to devour draconic essence. You will get Ancient Dragon’s Blessing after you have talked to her. On talking to her she will tell you about Dragon Lord Bayle, who is the main boss of this area.


Step 4: Igon’s Furled Finger

From the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion, Go north to reach the location where you fought the previous dragon. Then go east along the mountain to reach the Spirit Spring as shown in the second picture below. Use it to climb up the cliff and then cross the bridge to reach the Foot of the Jagged Peak Grace Site as shown in the third picture below. The path you need to take is shown with a blue line in the map below.

From the Grace Site, climb up the path on the south side to reach two dragons as shown in the pictures below. Defeat both the dragons. Then talk to Igon there, as shown in the third picture below. he will give you Igon’s Furled Finger. He will ask you to summon him during the boss fight with Bayle.


Step 5: Ancient Dragon Senessax (Jagged Peak Mountainside)

After talking to Igon, head east and use a couple of Spirit Springs as shown in the picture below to climb up. Then proceed ahead and you will reach an area with giant rolling boulders. Escape the boulder and take the path going east as shown in the second picture below. There you will have to defeat Ancient Dragon Senessax.

After defeating the dragon, climb up the path going north to reach the Jagged Peak Mountainside Grace Site as shown in the pictures below.


Step 6: Jagged Peak Summit

From the Jagged Peak Mountainside Grace Site, proceed southwest as shown in the picture below. You will find dragon corpses all along the path. Soon you will reach a Spirit Spring as shown in the second picture below. Use it to jump up to the upper level.

Proceed southwest and then proceed ahead hugging the left mountain wall as shown in the picture below. Soon this path will take you to another Spirit Spring. Use it to jump up to the upper level.

Proceed east after landing and then climb up the path on the north side. This path will take you to the third Spirit Spring. Use it to jump to the upper level, where you will find the Jagged Peak Summit Grace Site as shown in the second and third picture below.


Step 7: Defeat Bayle the Dread

Enter the boss arena. The option to summon Igon will appear in front of the Boss Arena entrance after Bayle attacks you as shown in the picture below. Summon Igon and then defeat Bayle the Dread. On defeating him, you will get Heart of Bayle.


Step 8: Collect Igon’s Items

Go back to the location where you last talked to Igon (Refer to Step 4). You will find his corpse there. Collect Igon’s Greatbow, Igon’s Helm, Igon’s Armor, Igon’s Gauntlets, Igon’s Loincloth, and Igon’s Bell Bearing from his corpse. The Bell Bearing can be used to purchase Igon’s Harpoon in the Round Table Hold.


Step 9: Unlock the Dragon Form

Go back to the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion (Refer to Step 3 for location). Interact with the red smoke there and offer Heart of Bayle. In return, you can select either Bayle’s Tyranny or Bayle’s Flame Lighting Dragon Communion Incantation.

Now go to the priestess’s location and collect the Flowerstone Gavel weapon and Priestess Heart. Use Priestess Heart when you do not have any armor pieces equipped. This will convert you to Dragon Form as shown in the pictures below. You will remain in the Dragon Form until you die. The only way to go back to your original form is also by dying. You can use Priestess Heart as many times as you want to convert to the Dragon form. This completes Igon’s questline. There is another way to unlock a Dragon Form, for which you will need a Rock Heart.
