When you reach the final mission in the game, Here Aiden has to make the final big decision. Aiden will find that Waltz has set missiles to destroy the city of Villedor completely, to save Mia.
The only way to stop the missiles is to use the GRE Key, which was broken during the fight with Waltz. As a result, the only way to save the city is to attach bombs to the missiles, causing them to explode before they reach the city. The problem is that the bombs must be manually detonated, so whoever detonates them will perish. In addition, if the bombs are detonated, X13 will be destroyed.
You’ll have a choice to make either to detonate the bombs and destroy X13 or save Lawan at the cost of the city.
Let Lawan Detonate the Bombs
If you let Lawan detonate the bombs, she’ll sacrifice herself. However, if kept Hakon alive earlier, then he will save Lawan at the last minute and they will both survive the bast. Aiden will get out of the facility with Mia, and X13 will blow up. The city will survive and in the end without X13 Mia will die.
After the end, a cutscene shows Spike walking into the Fish Eye Canteen. He speaks with the bartender Nikolas and discovers that Aiden has left the city.
Save Lawan
If you choose to save Lawan, Aiden will stop Lawan from detonating the bombs. Aiden needs to follow the yellow marker and play a timed two-minute chase sequence to get to Lawan’s position in time. If time runs out, you’ll just have to start over.
Aiden will eventually stop and get Lawan away from the bombs, allowing the missiles to launch and destroy the city. This is the bad ending of the game. The missile from X13 fell on Villedor, razing the city to the ground. Most of the citizens lost their lives. Lawan survived and Mia’s fate is unknown, Aiden leaves the city.
