As the ‘First Contact‘ mission unfolds, Oliver Campbell will present you with three choices for addressing the issue involving the mysterious spacecraft in orbit, known as the Earth Colony Ship Constant (ECS). This article will guide you on all 3 endings and possible outcomes. Here are the three choices proposed by Oliver Campbell:

  • Offer the Contact’s crew a chance to settle on Paradiso, with the condition that they work off the resettlement costs through a form of indentured servitude.
  • Opt for the straightforward approach of destroying the ECS Contact by taking it out of the sky, effectively concluding the matter.
  • Provide the Contact with a grav drive to accelerate their interstellar exploration, facilitating the search for a new settlement planet.

Ending 1: Take the Settlement Deal

Paradiso staff agrees to allow the Contact’s crew into Paradiso but passes the costs to you. After choosing the resettlement choice, return to the Constant.

Reboarding Earth Colony Ship Constant (ECS), inform Diana of Paradiso’s acceptance of the resettlement deal. She assigns you the task of collecting 40 fiber, 80 iron, 10 lithium, and 20 sealants for settlement.

Give the resources to Diana, confirm readiness, and meet her on your ship for the surface trip. On the surface, follow her to the spaceport’s edge for your reward: 300 XP, vintage sports equipment for decoration or selling, a suppressed XM-2311 pistol with a red dot sight, and .45 caliber bullets for the pistol.

Ending 2: Destroy the Ship

If you choose the option of simply blasting the ECS Contact out of the sky then Oliver will casually mention that if, by any chance that ship were to vanish from the skies, it would greatly simplify matters for the Paradiso personnel. He also recalls a prior discussion with an engineer concerning the historical tendency of old Earth Colony Ships and their reactors to become volatile and explode if pushed to their limits.

After Oliver presents this idea, a new optional quest marker will appear, guiding you to trigger an overload in Constant’s reactor. Proceed to the Constant’s Engineering bay, and pickpocket Amin’s reactor terminal key.

Then, make your way to the main reactor computer located on the side of the room.

Upon accessing it, a notification will appear, indicating that authorization from a captain is required to exceed the reactor’s safety limits.

Proceed to the Command Bay. When Diana’s attention is diverted from her computer, initiates a hack to permit the reactor override.

Ending 3: Convince to Settle Elsewhere

If you decide to purchase a Grav drive and persuade them to settle elsewhere, the Paradiso staff will not contribute to covering the project’s expenses; it falls entirely on your shoulders.

Oliver will direct you to HopeTech on Narion, where you’ll meet Grav Drive engineer Bennu St. James. To resolve the grav drive issue, you’ll need to cover the cost of parts and labor, which totals around 40,000 credits. If funds are tight, you can negotiate a reduced price by engaging in a Persuasion check, ultimately lowering the cost to a more manageable 25,000 credits. Complete all other objectives.

Finally, speak with Diana to receive 300 XP, antique sports equipment for decoration or selling, a suppressed XM-2311 pistol with a red dot sight, and .45 caliber bullets.

Ship Location after Settling Elsewhere

After a while, you’ll receive an update on the ship’s current whereabouts. Upon establishing contact with the ship, you’ll learn that they are still in the process of searching for a new location.
