All Gift Pokemon Locations and how to get them | Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (BDSP)

This guide shows all the Gift Pokemons that you can get in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (BDSP), released on 19th November 2021. There are 20 gift Pokemans to be collected at the time of the release of the game. In the future, you may receive more Gift Pokemons through Mystery Gifts and Events.


1) Starter Pokemon (Turtwig/ Chimchar/ Piplup)

You will have to choose between Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup at the start of the game.


2,3) Mew & Jirachi

Once you reach Floaroma Town, talk to the old couple on the west side as shown in the picture below. The old man will give you Jirachi if you have the Save Files from Pokemon Sword/Shield. The old lady will give you Mew if you have the Save Files from Pokemon Let’s Go.


4) Happiny

Talk to the Hiker at the highlighted location in Hearthome City and you will receive a Happiny egg from him. Make sure that you have a space in your team so that he can give you the egg. You have to walk about 10,000 steps for the egg to hatch.


5-11) Get Pokemons from Fossils

You will find Pokemon Fossils in the Grand Underground. To explore the Grand Underground, you will need to get Explorer Kit. You will get the Explorer Kit in the Underground Man’s House, which is right next to Pokémon Center in Eterna City.

Once you have a pokemon fossil, take it to the Oreburgh City Museum (See the pictures below for location). Talk to the NPC sitting in the reception and give him the fossil. Go outside and come back after some time to receive a Pokemon. Below is the list of Fossils and the Pokemon that you will get from that fossil.
1) Cranidos (Skull Fossil)
2) Shieldon (Armor Fossil)
3) Kabuto (Dome Fossil)
4) Omanyte (Helix Fossil)
5) Aerodactyle (Old Amber)
6) Lileep (Root Fossil)
7) Anorith (Claw Fossil)


12) Riolu

In Canalave City, take a ship to Iron Island as shown in the picture below. Inside the Island’s cave, you will find Riley (See the third picture below). Escort Riley to Team Galactic, and he will reward you with a Riolu Egg. Add the egg to your team and walk enough steps for the egg to hatch.


13) Eevee

After getting the National Pokedex for seeing all Pokemon, Bebe will gift you an Eevee. National Pokedex will be unlocked after completing the Story Campaign. You will find Bebe in Hearthome City, inside the house at the location shown below.


14-17) In-Game Trade with NPCs

There are a total of 4 In-Game trade opportunities with NPCs that will get you Pokemon.


Abra

Go to the building next to the Pokemart in Oreburgh City as shown below. Talk to the girl standing in front of the door inside. You can trade your Machop for an Abra.


Chatot

Go to the building next to the Pokemart in Eterna City. Talk to the kid sitting in the corner as shown below. You can trade your Buizel for a Chatot.


Haunter

Go to the house shown below in Snowpoint city. You can trade your Medicham for a Haunter.


Magikarp

Go to the house shown below on Route 226. Here you can trade your Finneon for a Magikarp.


18) Manaphy

Players will be able to get Manaphy egg for free until 21st February 2022 by unlocking the ‘Mystery Gift‘ Option. To unlock the Mystery Gift, go and enter the TV Station Tower at the southwest portion of Jubilife City as shown in the picture below. Go to the third floor (3F on Elevator) of the TV Station Tower and talk to the ‘TV Producer’ NPC. He will ask you what kind of TV programs do you like. Answer with the “Everyone Happy Wi-Fi Connection” option. This will unlock the Mystery Gift Option.

Once the option is unlocked, open the menu and select the ‘Mystery Gift’ option. Here you will see two options to receive Mystery Gifts: Get via Internet and Get with Code/Password. Until 21st February 2022, you will be able to receive a Manaphy Egg using the ‘Get via Internet’ option. Add the Manaphy egg to your team and walk enough steps for the egg to hatch.


19) Phione

Once you have a Manaphy, check Manaphy and Ditto into the Pokémon Nursery in the Sinnoh region’s Solaceon Town to get a Phione Egg. Add the egg to your team and walk enough steps for the egg to hatch. Click here to see how to get Ditto.


20) Eevee

To get Eevee, first, you will need the National Pokedex. After finishing the Pokemon League, and registering all 150 Pokemon to the Sinnoh Pokedex, go and talk to the Professor in Sandgem town to get the National Pokedex.

Once you have the National Pokedex, go to Bebe’s house in Hearthome City. bebe’s house is the building on the right side of Pokemon Center in Hearthome City as shown below. Go inside the house and talk to Bebe to receive an Eevee.

    Bebe’s Eevee is on this list twice padding the list with Fossil pokemon doesn’t make them gift pokemon. Phione and all the trade evolutions aren’t gifts, either. Only Manaphy, Eevee, Mew, Jirachi, Riolu, and Happiny really belong on this list…Calling your starter a gift is a bit of a stretch as well.
