How to Evolve Riolu into Lucario
Riolu’s evolution is not based on level and is instead tied to the old friendship system introduced in past generations. Riolu Regular Evolution requires high Friendship in the Daytime to evolve into Lucario.
The quickest way to raise Riolu’s friendship level
- Use Picnic feature: In picnic mode, walk up to your Riolu and tap the X Button to wash Riolu. This will increase friendship level will rise and you can do multiple picnic sessions.
- Give Riolu food such as the Pomeg Berry, Grepa Berry, or Hondew Berry items.
Lucario location
Lucario can also be caught in the North Province (Area One). It rarely spawns at a higher level (Level 50), late in the game.
