The Double Jump, also known as Thruster Boots or P.A.L.E, is one of the most useful traversal upgrades you can unlock in The Outer Worlds 2. This ability lets your character perform a mid-air boost, allowing you to reach higher platforms, cross wide gaps, and explore hidden areas that are otherwise inaccessible. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to find and unlock the Thruster Boots in The Outer Worlds 2.
Start “Perilous Journey to the Grove”
Head to the Fairfield and speaking with Huell Chaudry, who can be found standing in front of the building just south of town. Talking to him will start the “Perilous Journey to the Grove” side quest, where he asks you to meet Jackson Plum in Spire Grove.
Find Jackson Plum
From Fairfield, make your way southwest toward the cargo lift located beside the mountain. Refer to the map below.
Once you reach Spire Grove, head toward the tower ahead. As you approach, a cutscene will trigger, and Jackson Plum will fall to the ground.
Inspect and loot Jackson Plum’s body to obtain the Plasma Thruster Boots, also known as P.A.L.E. Once equipped, these boots grant you the Double Jump ability.
