Sorcerous Sundries Vault Full Guide: All Rare Tomes, Scrolls & Secrets | Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

In this guide, we’ll explore the Sorcerous Vault and will show you all the secrets, puzzles, and Rare Tomes Hidden in the Sorcerous Sundries Vault in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).

How to Enter Sorcerous Vault

Go to Lower City and enter the Sorcerous Sundries building. Speak with Tonla Tome-Monger, the librarian, near the back of the library on the first floor. She’ll say The Annals of Karsus is located inside the library, but it is only accessible through her office.

Ungroup your party members and then cast a Greater Invisibility spell. On the second floor, there are four portals there but don’t interact with them. Go to the left side to find a Metal door.

Lockpick the Metal door to enter the room. Inside you will find several bookshelves.

Interact with the “Clasped Book” book to open a portal. Enter the portal and this will transport you to the Sorcerous Vault.

The Annals of Karsus

Note: This is the portal room and for all the secrets, puzzles you have to start from this room.

Pass through the first Oak door, then the second locked door name Ramazith Door. You can smash these locked doors using Soualbreaker Greatsword. Finally, you’ll arrive at a hexagonal chamber with several entrances.

In the minimap you can see the name of the room is Silverhand. To reach the Karsus Vault, you need to go through a specific set of doors. The correct order of doors is mentioned below. Pass the “Perception” check successfully and enter the door with the name Silverhand Door. Simillary pass through the Abjuration Door and Silver Door.

Silverhand Door > Abjuration Door > Silver Door

Pull the lever in the last room to open the Karsus vault.

Return to the previous area and enter through the “Demon” door. Also, here you must skillfully evade or jump accurately to avoid being struck by the rebounding lights.

Then go through only the open door “Karsus“. Jump over the trap in the next area and enter the Karsus Vault and pick up The Annals of Karsus.

The Tharchiate Codex

Pass through the first Oak door, then the second locked door name Ramazith Door. You can smash these locked doors using Soualbreaker Greatsword. Finally, you’ll arrive at a hexagonal chamber with several entrances.

In the minimap you can see the name of the room is Silverhand. Pass the “Sleight of Hand”  check and enter the door with the name Silverhand Door. Simillary pass through the Evocation Door and Wish Door.

Silverhand Door > Evocation Door > Wish Door

Pull the lever in the last room to open the Elminster vault.

Return to the previous area and enter through the “Gate” door. Also, here you must evade or jump accurately to avoid being struck by the rebounding lights.

Then go through the Transmutation Door.

Jump over the trap in the next area and enter the Elminster vault through the only single open entrance.

Break the display case containing Tharchiate Codex and read it.

Caution Before the Seelie

Start from Portal Room and go halfway to the Ramazith Door (Don’t cross it). Before the Seelie can be found behind an illusionary wall to the right of the Ramazith Door. Simply enter the room and collect the book from the shelves.

The Red Knight’s Final Strategem

In the portal room, don’t pass through any door. This time, go to the portal’s rear and look for a button near the stone wall. Use the button to make the wall move and disclose a hidden area.

Enter the area, and proceed past another oak door, where you’ll come across a display cabinet. Unlock it to acquire The Red Knight’s Final Strategem.

Yafeu the Djinn (Peculiar Lamp)

In the portal room, don’t pass through any door. This time, go to the portal’s rear and look for a button near the stone wall. Use the button to make the wall move and disclose a hidden area.

Enter the area, but don’t proceed past another oak door. Pass through the illusionary wall to the right of the Oak Door to find the Peculiar lamp. If you have any of your characters interact with the Peculiar lamp, they will be pulled into it.

The Djinn within the lamp will be grateful for your assistance because it means he may now flee. The character who touched the lamp, on the other hand, is stuck and cannot escape unless someone else touches the lamp.

One way to escape the Peculiar Lamp is to employ an explosive, poison, gas, acid, or spell that does friendly fire damage, and then blow yourself up within the lamp.

There is another way out of the Peculiar Lamp that does not need blowing it up. When the Djinn escapes, you’ll discover that the lamp is full of loot and one of the items is “Scroll of Summon Quasit.” It’ll be inside one of the chests.

Use this “Scroll of Summon Quasit” to free yourself from the Djinn Lamp.

you can also escape the lamp by having a party member summon a hand and use the hand to move the lamp, thereby trapping the summoned hand in the lamp. from there you can dismiss the hand or simply leave.

Looks like they patched the Hand trick. Neither summoned creatures or Mage Hand can move the lamp.

I ended up casting a Minor Illusion spell and was able to escape as well.
