The Forbidden Sands: All Collectible Locations | God of War Ragnarok

This guide will show you where to find all of the Collectibles in the area of “The Forbidden Sands” in God of War Ragnarok released on November 8th, 2022. There are 29 Collectibles in “The Forbidden Sands” which is part of the area of Alfheim.

Note: 

• You will need the Spear to get all collectibles (It gets unlocked from Main Mission 10: Forging Destiny). 
• Access to The Forbidden Sands is possible after Main Quest 6: The Reckoning

1) Favor: Song of the Sands

This Favor gets automatically unlocked once you reached The Burrows. Do all the collectibles in The Burrows and you will automatically complete the Song of the Sands Favor by freeing the large jellyfish. Return to the desert area above ground and free the jellyfish, and the Favor will end.

2) Odin’s Raven

Go to Elven Sanctum as marked on the map and destroy the breakable rocks beneath it. Squeeze through the hole to reach a secret location. This is where the Raven is flying.

5) Artifact (Tributes to Freyr – Bracelet)

Climb up the Elven Sanctum to find this item at the right side of the entrance gate

6) Lore (Lore Marker – Rules of the Sanctum)

Inside the Elven Sanctum

7) Lore (Scroll – An Examination of Temporal Significance)

On a circular table inside the Elven Sanctum

8) Lore (The Lost Pages)

On a circular table inside the Elven Sanctum.

9) Lore (Treasure Map – Forgotten Tower)

Climb up the ledge to reach the upper level of the Elven Sanctum to find the lore on a shelf. The buried treasure is also in The Forbidden Sands (Collectible #14 in this article).

10) Legendary Chest (Jewel of Yggdrasil)

In the upper level of the Elven Sanctum.

11) Consul’s Journal (Quest Item – Favor: The Elven Sanctum)

In the upper level of the Elven Sanctum. It is a quest item, not a collectible.

12) Lore (Lore Marker – The Arbiters of Knowledge)

In the upper level of the Elven Sanctum.

13) Favor: The Elven Sanctum

The Favor – The Elven Sanctum finished automatically when you picked up the Consul’s Journal (collectible #11) and left the Elven Sanctum.

14) Buried Treasure (Treasure Map – Forgotten Tower)

Head west from the Elven Sanctum as marked on the map. Climb up the wall to find the treasure on the right side of the ground. It requires Collectible #8: Lore (Treasure Map – Forgotten Tower) from this article.

15) Artifact (Tributes to Freyr – Token)

Look right from the previous collectible to find an opening in the wall. Squeeze through the gap to find an Artifact.

16) Yggdrasil Rift

Near the previous Artifact.

17) Odin’s Raven

Head to the big statue that’s holding up a sword. You will find the Raven flying in circles in front of this big statue

18) Favor: Freyr’s Gift (Runic Summon: Invoke the Storm)

The favor of Freyr’s Gift is automatically started after approaching the statue of Freyr (a big statue that’s holding up a sword).

Go up the right ramp and destroy the hive matter.

Go down and open the hive entrance using sonic arrows to destroy the hive.

Walk around the route (below the ramp) to get the light crystal.

Place the light crystal in the slot up the right ramp.

Remove the crystal underneath the left light bridge then destroy the hive. Place the crystal in its original location again to form the light bridge.

Go beneath the light bridge you used to access the area (path below the right ramp).

Pick up the crystal and place it in the slot by taking it up the left light ramp.

Go down and get Freyr’s Gift.

19) Lore (Lore Marker – The Enlightened One)

After completing “Favor: Freyr’s Gift,” this Lore Marker will get activated in the same location where the favor ends.

20) Nine Realms in Blossom (Flower: Dawnbloom)

Head to the west side of The Forbidden Sands and you’ll come up to a grapple point. Head to the left of the grapple point to find this flower.

21) Lore (Lore Marker – Bjarg Stormr)

climb up a wall near the flower to find Lore.

22) Odin’s Raven

It is behind the Lore Marker.

23) Legendary Chest (Hardened War Handles – Blades Attachment)

Travel to the region’s southern edge. When you enter the cave, you’ll notice two purple mirrors hanging from the ceiling.

To get rid of the red sacks, use an axe on the right mirror. Then burn the vines on the left mirror with purple arrows.

Then, turn the left mirror so that it faces the right mirror, and the right mirror so that it faces the red bags on the left. Throwing an axe at the left mirror causes it to deflect to the right mirror, which causes it to deflect toward the red bags, clearing the path.

The legendary chest is underneath the red sacks.

24) Berserker Gravestone (Grip of the Nine Realms – Axe Attachment)

25) Odin’s Raven

Head to the marked area on the eastern side of the region. Raven is sitting on a rock.

26) Artifact (Kvasir’s Poems – Trip)

It is on top of a little tower in the northeast of the region.

27) Favor: The Desert Door

For this Favor, you need two Alfheim Barrens Key Half. The Desert Door is automatically started after collecting any one of the two keys in The Forbidden Sands in Alfheim

Below are two possible locations of “Alfheim Barrens Key Half “. Key Only spawns after Favor: Freyr’s Gift.

After getting these two keys, go to the quest marker on the north part of the map to open the desert door (Same location as collectible #14). Defeat the Gravel Belly boss to complete the quest. It drops Skirnir’s Gambanteinn & Dragon Claw & Dragon Tooth
