Bagon is a Dragon-type Pokemon available only in Shining Pearl exclusive edition. You will find Bagon in the Grand Underground of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (BDSP), but it’s locked to the post-game, and you do need to unlock the National Pokedex. This guide shows how to reach the grand underground and the underground hideaway/ Biome where you will find Bagon.
How to unlock National Pokedex
To unlock the National Pokedex, you need to defeat the Elite 4 and register all 150 Pokemon to the Sinnoh Pokedex. Then go and talk to the Professor in Sandgem town to get the National Pokedex.
How to reach the Grand Underground
To reach the Grand Underground, you will first need the Explorer Kit. You will get the Explorer Kit in the Underground Man’s House, which is right next to Pokémon Center in Eterna City as shown in the picture below. Enter the house and talk to the Underground Man to receive the Explorer Kit. The Explorer Kit will be in your Bag’s Key Items pocket.
Once you have the Explorer Kit, go to your Bag’s Key Items pocket and use the Explorer Kit to enter the Grand Underground. Then you can explore the Grand underground.
Where to Find Bagon
There is a total of 18 hideaways/Biomes in the Grand Underground. You will find Bagon in Spacious Cave, Dazzling Cave & Stargleam Cavern. These caverns can be identified on the minimap by their icon shown in the picture below. You will need to press ‘Y’ to open the minimap. Click here to see how to reach all the areas in the grand underground. Place Dragon-Type Statues in your secret base to increase the chances of Bagon spawning.

The best available location to find a Bagon is to head to Celestic Town as its home of Stargleam Cavern. So make your way from Celestic Pokemon Center inside to the Stargleam Cavern. Alternatively, you may find Bagon in anyone of the highlighter area below the map.
