Crimson Dye Merchant & Sakai Horse Armor Dye: Blood on Your Hands Trophy | Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut

‘Blood on Your Hands’ is one of the trophies in the Iki Island, introduced in Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut DLC expansion released on 20th August 2021. To unlock this trophy you will need to find Crimson Dye Merchant and Horse Armor Merchant. This article will show the location of the merchants and how to unlock the Trophy.

Blood on Your Hands Trophy Unlock condition: Purchase an item from the Crimson Dye Merchant and obtain a dye for your Sakai Horse Armor.


Crimson Dye Merchant

Crimson Dye Merchant is southeast of Fort Sakai at Tatsu’s Ladder as shown in the picture below. To be able to purchase items from the ‘ Crimson Dye Merchant ‘ you will have to complete some steps first as shown below.

To get the location of the Crimson Dye Merchant you will have to finish ‘The Hidden Cove Tournament’ in Fugu’s Refuge as shown in the picture below. To unlock the Hidden cove tournament you will have to complete the fourth main quest, A Raider’s Return, of the DLC. During the quest, you will arrive at Fugu’s Refuge and the tournament will be marked on the man. Talk to the man standing in front of the ring and finish the four bokken duels to complete the tournament.

After you have won Tournament, the Crimson Dye Merchant location will be marked on the. Talk to him and purchase any item of your choice. The merchant sells Sword Kits, Armor Dyes, Hats, and Masks. Purchasing any of the items counts for unlocking the trophy.


Horse Armor Merchant

To unlock the location of the Horse ARmor merchant you will need to first complete ‘The Legacy of Kazumasa Sakai’ mythical tale. By doing this mythical tale you will get ‘Sakai Horse Armor’. Check the link below for the complete walkthrough of the mythical tale.

‘The Legacy of Kazumasa Sakai’ Complete Walkthrough

Completing ‘The Legacy of Kazumasa Sakai’ mythical tale will unlock the location of the Horse Armor Merchant at the southeast edge of the map. But to get a dye from the merchant you will have to find six Sakai Banners.

There are a total of 30 Sakai Banners on Iki Island. You will have to collect only six Sakai Banners to be able to get the dye. Locations of the Sakai Banners are not marked on the map but they can be easily tracked. To track the Sakai Banners, simply equip the Traveler’s Attire and use the guiding wind to track ‘Undiscovered Sakai Banner’.

After you have completed the above steps, go to the location of the Horse Armor Merchant at the southeast edge of the map as shown in the picture below. Talk to him to get the horse dye. If you have purchased an item from the ‘ Crimson Dye Merchant’ before this, ‘Blood on Your Hands’ will unlock now.
