This guide shows how to complete the world quest “Lost in the Sands” in the game of Genshin Impact 3.1 update, which was released on 28th September 2022. You can find “Scarlet Sand Slate” while working through the world quest “Lost in the Sands”.

Lost in the Sands Quest
To initiate the quest, head to Aaru Village and talk to a merchant name Bonifaz. He will inform you that the researcher and other villagers left in the west direction and you can find them by following their footprints. This will initiate a questline “Golden Slumber”.
Follow the footprints and search for the archeology team
Head west along Abdju Road, and near the end, drop down into a large pit.
Go to the bottom of the pit and look for clues
Glide down into the large pit and land near the archeology camp.
Talk to the three people
Speak with three different archeology team members to gather more clues.
Talk to the fourth person in the distance
Go to the area near the ruins together with Tizard
Explore up ahead through the long corridor
Head inside the ruins. Activate the teleport waypoint and continue your journey inside the ruin until you reach a locked door.
Continue exploring
Clear the sand surrounding the mechanism with Anemo’s power, then activate it to unlock the entrance.
Enter the first room and eliminate all enemies. Continue exploring the corridor and use the mechanism to open the door.
Continue exploring the corridor until you reach a bigger room with a locked chest.
Use the platform on the far left end of the room to reach another bigger room in the underground.
Here light three touches using pyro character.
Use the Electro character on the fourth torch to activate it and then use a pyro character to light it up. This will remove the seal around the mechanism and the chest.
Use the mechanism to open the door and head inside. Continue to explore the corridor, and go downstairs to find Sacred Seal: Valley lying on the ground.
Continue Investing the ruin with Jeht
Use the platform to go to the upper level.
Investigate the strange machine
Report your finding to Jabrael and Talk to Jeht
Report all your finding to get Scarlet Sand Slate.
Continue exploring and open the door
Use the platform to go to the upper level and interact with the mechanism to open the door.
Continue exploring and look for an exit
Head inside the door and continue your journey until you reach a puzzle room at the end. Pick up the Mysterious Replicator Keystones. This is used to create multiple ruin devices like Everlight Cells, Neverlight Cells, etc. Rotate the mechanism to open the door.
In the next room, pick up two Mysterious Replicator Keystones and place them to make the device appear.
Rotate the device on the left twice to make the current flow and then open the door.
Defeat the opponents
Enter the new room and defeat both the enemies and then open the door.
Follow the direction of the wind to find the exit
Enter inside to start a cutscene. You will find two tunnels. Here follow the tunnel on the left
Leave the pit through the exit
Continue to follow the tunnel until you find the tunnel getting divided into two. This time follow the right tunnel. defeat all the enemies and exit the pit.
