This article will guide you on how to complete all the objectives of the side quest “The Ailing Arborheart” in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Starting Location
Requirement: Complete “A Trial of Archery” and “Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge“ side quest. To access this quest, you must first learn Elvish
To start this quest, go to The Arborheart in Sacred Arbor. There is an NPC named Doireann who should automatically speak with you. Speak with her 2nd time near a tree to begin the quest.
Doireann (NPC) wants the player to find a material known gwyfencha. If your pawn specializes in “Woodland Wordsmith,” they will promptly inform you that means “Scalecinder” is crafted by Battahli blacksmiths.
Speak with a Battahli blacksmith
Proceed to Brokkr’s Smithy in Bakbattahl and speak with Sara (NPC). It recommends placing a portcrystal as you’ll be making multiple trips. She agrees to help but asks for a dish for the dwarf.
Head back to the elf at the Sacred Arbor, inform her of the meal request from Sara, and she’ll tell you to collect rotten apples and fish.
Simply put the regular apple and fish in your inventory and sit on a bench to pass the days. This will automatically rot the apple and fish.
Give the rotten apple and fish to the elf, and she’ll prepare the meal.
Proceed to Brokkr’s Smithy in Bakbattahl and deliver the dish to Sara.
Follow Sara to a cave where she gives the food to the dwarf. After taking the food he leaves to eat the food.
Enter the cave, and collect at least six pieces of Scalecinder, which looks like green dust. Leave the cave, and inform Sara you’re done.
Head back to the elf at the Sacred Arbor and give her the Scalecinder to end the quest.
